In September I traveled to my home state to photograph Erin and Jeff’s wedding at the lovely Mercury Hall in Austin, TX.
It was such a beautiful evening – and special in more ways than one. Erin’s sister Janessa is married to my brother Brad, and we are both aunts to nephews Mason and Jackson.
It’s always so wonderful when you photograph an event where everyone is so joyful and warm – and especially when it’s family. I could go on and on about this wedding but I’ll let the photos tell the story.
Erin and Jeff’s wonderful friends and talented videographers also made a wedding video of the day, which I highly recommend you check out here.
Congrats to Erin and Jeff!

Back in August I traveled down South to the Outer Banks in North Carolina to photograph fellow New Yorkers Michelle and Patton’s beach wedding.
North Carolina has special meaning to the couple – they both attended undergrad colleges in North Carolina, before eventually meeting in New York City, where they both attended grad school at Columbia, though in different programs.
What a trip! I got to meet so many lovely people, and being in the South felt just like being home in Texas.
The stormy weather tried to get us down, but somehow the rain held off just long enough for everyone to gather on the beach and have the ceremony.
Afterwards, the lovely and fun-filled reception was held under a tent in the backyard of a beach house the couple had rented.
Congrats to a wonderful couple, Michelle and Patton!

Spring is finally here in NYC, after what I’m sure everyone can agree was a too-long winter season. I’m looking forward to sunny days at the park, perfect soccer weather and of course more photographing.

On a bitterly cold January day, I had the pleasure of photographing Nico and Michael’s ceremony at the City Clerk’s office in downtown Manhattan. Nico and Michael are two of the kindest people I have ever met. They are down-to-earth and fun, and always laughing. They have the cutest cat named Baxter that stole the show in his bow tie at breakfast before the ceremony.
The lovely couple and their friends and families could not have been warmer as I captured their ceremony and reception over the weekend of Feb. 18. It’s such a wonderful thing to work with good people. Photographing a wedding is like taking a crash course in getting to know a family, and these two families were amazing.
The following Sunday, Nico and Michael had their reception at the rooftop bar and lounge at the Empire Hotel, right across from the beautiful Lincoln Center, where we stopped by to take some photos before the party started.
Congratulations to Nico and Michael!

Views from a rooftop in Williamsburg – looking east toward the East River and Manhattan, and looking north towards Greenpoint and Queens, Monday evening, Oct. 29. Lower Manhattan went mostly dark, and 1WTC, the tallest building in the city and always brightly lit, went dark during the period these photos were taken.

A couple weeks ago I photographed an amazing couple’s wedding, Kate and Rahul, in NYC.
Kate and Raul are the loveliest couple whom I met through mutual friends here in NY.
The ceremony was at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament on 71st and Broadway on the Upper West Side. I loved that I got to photograph the couple on a walk through Central Park from their hotel at Columbus Circle to the west side. I even jumped in the cab with them for a short cab ride the rest of the way to the church. A city wedding all the way!
After the ceremony we rode the subway down to Le Bernadin in Midtown where they had their reception with family.
It was such a beautiful, intimate evening and I came away feeling so happy to get to be in the presence of such a loving couple and their equally loving families.
Congrats Kate & Rahul!

It’s definitely summer here in New York City, as evidenced by the recent soaring temperatures the city has experienced. I came upon a little girl and some family members cooling off in an open fire hydrant in East Williamsburg in Brooklyn yesterday. Link to the Image on The Wild Magazine’s site below.
Stay cool out there!

Last week I had the privilege of shooting the wedding of Kara & Miguel, two wonderful people who are so in love that it made my job easy; it wasn’t hard to catch moments between them.
Kara is a native New Yorker from Staten Island and Miguel is from Spain. They met in Madrid and married in an intimate ceremony at Brooklyn City Hall June 4, surrounded by family and friends. Afterward, they had a reception at Taverna Di Bacco in Manhattan on the Lower East Side.
I had the best experience shooting this wedding – everyone was so warm to me and the day was just filled with love.
Congrats Kara & Miguel!
